Afternoon Tea Time at The Lobby, Manila Peninsula

What is an afternoon tea without scones? Comes best with clotted cream, lemon curd and strawberry jam.

Healthy sandwiches! A tuna sandwich of some sort was also available.

Buttered Popcorn, Potato Chips and Mixed Nuts are best partnered with Classic Irish Coffee.

Smoked Turkey with Brie and Cranberries and a generous spread of goat cheese is a piece of heaven on Earth!

Say cheese! On photo are: Goat, Swiss, Brie, Blue and Manchego cheese and some dried fruits and walnuts.

Shrimp and Asparagus Mini Quiches! :)

You wouldn’t want to miss these fruit tarts!

.. and some legit Buko Pie and Ube Baklava!

I was too happy enjoying my unlimited freshly brewed Iced Tea and afternoon tea snacks that I surrendered to food and stopped taking photos of the other food items such as Bam-I, Peach Pudding, cakes, assorted fresh fruits, some healthy crackers and biscuits, ice cream, tarts and others. Meh.

I love you, Hannah!! I’m totally girl crushing on you and your awesome skills right nao. :”) Same (or maybe even cooler) as the overpriced prints in Heima (HAHA People, I love Heima but the prints are really overpriced! Or.. I’m stingy laykdat.) . Huhu, if you ever put up a prints shop, I will buy your stuff I promise! But, please don’t charge 3,100 php per print. Huhu 3,100 is pretty difficult to raise for a bum like me. :(. Please don’t be annoyed of my misplaced commas.

Again, I love you Hannah and your whatchamacalit super amazing skills! <3

I am reblogging so people can feel my fangirl-ing! :)

Practicing type by quoting stuff from all my favorite series. First set is from Sherlock.

Also, I’ve been thinking of printing and framing one of these babies so I could hang it on my wall

ETA: Uploaded the correct version for “Brainy’s the new sexy”. Thanks to the lovely anon for pointing that one out! Haha

Today, I played like a was a kid..

.. because I’m a kid at heart.

And after so many years, I rode the swing again; I chose it over nachos and cheese.

Mr. Kurosawa, Resorts World Manila

Snack time at Mr. Kurosawa ;)

California Maki - the usual california maki, only with yummy kani ‘salad’ on top

Monte Carlo Roll - roll with scallops and cheese

I think this one is Agedashi Tofu.

Uhmm.. chicken something. Haha. Forgot the name but it’s something like chicken karaage from Tempura Japanese Grill but with better chicken taste and dipping sauce! ;)

Food was okay. Nothing special. I still prefer Omakase rolls. Oh.. the chicken was addicting! :)

Now reading Please Look After Mother by Kyung-Sook Shin. I’ve only read 13 pages but I can tell it has an interesting story and plot. So far, I’m loving the flow of the story and how the book was written!

Weekly reads! I finally have the time to read got bored surfing the internet the whole day, going out to eat, malling, and.. uhm, most days, just really bumming around. Haha. So I bought 3 books these past 2 weeks - Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler (aka as Lemony Snicket to kids!), Please Look After Mother by Kyung-Sook Shin and Emily the Strange published by Harper Teen.

Today, I had an awesome 5 hour date with Why We Broke Up by Daniel Handler. I had no idea this book existed until I saw the last stock displayed in National Bookstore. Like some people, I sometimes judge a book by its cover.. and its pages. I fell in love with this book the moment I saw it - hah! Nice book cover, and even nicer colored pages with art and illustration, printed on glossy paper! That moment, I knew I had to buy it (hah. It was meant for me! It was the last piece. I checked some bookstores the past days and the book was (and I guess still) out of stock. I’m a very lucky bunny. Anyhoo, the book didn’t have a lot of inspirational quotes like Paulo Coelho’s books but quite entertaining and a bit humorous. A bit predictable but.. haha. I am so biased. I’m a sucker for books with pretty covers, colored pages and nice paper!

Tomorrow, I will probably start reading Please Look After Mother. I wanted to read it first before the other two books, but then again.. my thing with books printed in full color and nice paper! Hmm.. but then again the book’s (Please Look After Mother) synopsis is so interesting that I might just start reading it tonight. :)

And.. that third book, Emily the Strange, is uhmm.. well, I bought it because it reminded me of my high school friend, Faye. I won’t even attempt to discuss the story behind that book and that character as I value my life. Haha kidding. No, it’s a cute, high school, teeny thing between Faye and I, and some other people. (Hi Faye and related friends.. if ever you guys are reading this!) Oh no wait. I kind of bought it because of the book’s cute hardbound cover art and again, pretty pages and paper! :)

Uhmm.. *insert my forever awkward self here*

Any other good book suggestions?

Sentro 1771

Filipino Desserts

Sentro 1771, Serendra

Coffee Beans Sansrival (My favorite! Definitely not your typical sansrival!)

Keso Flan - served with Queso de Bola on the sides!

Banana and Camote Un-Cue (Such a witty name for this! ;) )

Fried Suman and Mangoes - And again, this is not your typical suman! The suman itself had a unique taste (not like the sumans wrapped in green banana leaf)

Who knew Filipino desserts could be so delectable! I’m not kidding. You have to try these desserts at Sentro! (And that, my friends, is what we call free advertisement. Ehem, Sentro Management. Haha! Kidding. ;) )

Tryna’ beat the heat with these tracks. Not the usual music I listen to, but these are good tracks to play while on the beach or just out, driving to somewhere - ya’ know.. the hippie, with windows rolled down, type of summer roadtrip. ;) #Chos

I’m selfish when it comes to my music and playlists so this is a first. Uhm.. sending some summer generosity and love to whoever! I have an unusual taste in music but whatev but I hope you guys like these! *insert my awkward self here*

Warm chocolate.

A good, fulfilling breakfast.

A whiff of fresh morning air and morning dew drops.

.. the kind of morning in my head. Then I wake up, 5:55 am on my clock. I’m running late for work. But still.. my morning seems so perfect and I just know that it’s gonna be a good day! :)

1 Cor 13:4-8

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy,it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.
